Jessica Sue Catlin is an Inspirational Writer and Paper Flower Artist from Maryland, now living in the beautiful rural town Monticello, Georgia. She writes about healing after crisis, finding faith and hope, and connecting to nature. Most of her writing is done from the red clay hiking trails, while sitting under a tall Georgia Pine or while snuggled up in her home office with her two rescue cats. Jessica looks forward to her first book being published, and completing Forest Therapy guide certification.
“I’ve had a deep love of nature since childhood, when I saw a hummingbird for the first time. Fascinated by the tiny bird buzzing around the purple irises in a flower bed, this was my first glimpse into the healing connection with nature. It would be many years before I understood how this profound experience influenced the direction of my career.”
“Much of the time I spend in nature is spent in prayer, practicing gratitude, and for self-examination and reflection. I believe God is in all things, and I enjoy thinking about the analogies of nature used in the bible that help us understand spiritual lessons and wisdom. After losing my husband in 2013, I spent a lot of time on meditation hikes. Connecting with nature helped me find healing throughout the grieving process. I was able to come more into alignment with my true self, and to rediscover my God given purpose. It’s with a grateful heart that I share these experiences of finding healing and inspiration in nature. Living a life in collaboration with God has brought me great joy on some of the darkest days of my life.”
